Climate Conditions in Palampur:
Like all hill stations, winters are extremely cold and temperature goes down below freezing point. So make sure to carry heavy woollens when visiting here in winters. Climate is good in summers and occasionally rains from July to September, so light woollens or cottons are good enough.
Best time to visit Palampur: This place can be travelled anytime of the year. However, avoid during excessive cold weather.

Trekking: Dhauladhar Mountains there is having many trekking options if you move to the Chamba city. Palampur to Holi through Shingar pass and Palampur to Dharamsala over Indrahar Pass are two of the most famous trekking routes of the region.
Paragliding: Billing town which is 28 km from Palampur is known for the Paragliding hub apart or its Buddhist monuments and Tibetan handicrafts.
Fishing: Palampur town has quite a number of opportunities for fishing. Mahasheer is one of the famous fishing spot in and around. You can even catch a 9 feet long fish here. Dehra Gopipur, Nadaun and Pong Dam are some of the others.
Hotels in the Town: Himachal Pradesh Tourism runs Hotel T-Bud at Palampur. Taragarh Palace is the royal one, if you want to stay in luxury.
Festivals Celebrated: In this very month of March, celebration of Holi begins and spring festival here is also celebrated with the mood of laughter and joy.
