Narkanda Hatu Peak

Hatu Peak at Narkanda Hills around Shimla is an exotic hill resort which is still not very explored by tourists. This picturesque hill station is around 64 km from Shimla at a height of 2700 metres. Its amazing views and side scenes can make you look stunning. Narkanda is away from crowd and thus tourist can relax here without disturbance of noise, traffic and pollution. Dense pine forests, peach orchids and apple plantations are some of its greatest attraction. Tourists should rather stay at Narkanda instead of Shimla to avoid the city’s fast life and crowd. Moreover there are no parking problems like Shimla here.

How to reach Shimla Narkanda – Hatu Peak: Narkanda

Delhi to Narkanda by Road: Narkanda is well connected by road from Shimla. From Delhi it can be reached via Delhi to Shimla to Kufri to Fagu and lastly Narkanda. Delhi to Narkanda distance is 400 km in total and Shimla to Narkanda is 65km.

Delhi to Narkanda by Train – Nearest Railway station is Shimla and then by road to Narkanda either by bus or by taxi.

Delhi to Narkanda by Air – Nearest Airport is Shimla Airport at Jubbarhati which is around 85 km from the Narkanda.

Narkanda weather can be extreme cold in winter season, so it is advisable to take heavy woollens with you. Narkanda is not only famous for deep forest and apple plantations but also as a skiing destination. There is a famous ski resort in Narkanda started in the year 1980. There are many places nearby to visit but the most unique is Hatu Peak.

Hatu Peak is situated 8 km from Narkanda at the top of the hill at Indo Tibet Road at NH 22 at a height of 3300 metres. You can also reach Hatu Peak by one hour trekking. On the hill top is situated Hatu Mata Temple which is a very divine place for the locals there. During snowfall this place becomes a tourist attraction for skiing and other adventure sports. The road stretch here is exhilarating and enjoyable. Also there are not many Hotels in Narkanda, so it is good if you book your rooms well in advance. This place is absolutely awesome and cannot be described in words. Scenic beauty here is majestic and the slopes and valley are really enjoyable. Hatu Peak Hatu Peak is the highest peak of the region and you can see apple gardens and peach orchids on the way from Narkanda. It has also an important Horticultural Centre. “Tani Jubar Lake” is also a must place visit at Narkanda. The road from Narkanda to Hatu Peak is absolutely breath taking. This hilly stretch is too steep and narrow. You must be a good driver to drive here. You can see the whole Narkanda valley on the way. There is good hotel named as “The Hatu” in Narkanda which is run by Himachal Pradesh Tourist Department which you book online well in advance. There is also one good food joint named as “New Himalayan Dhaba” where you can satisfy your tummy by hot and delicious food.
