Kalka to Shimla Special Toy Train

This Heavy snow fall in Himachal Pradesh & its capital Shimla has woke up tourism in the state capital. The heavy Snow fall & loads of tourists have persuaded Indian railway to start special holiday toy train from Kalka to Shimla.

 

As we know that this train takes 3 times the time taken to cover the same distance of approx 90 kilometers by road, still tourists love to travel by this toy train because of the unbounded sceneries.

 

There are other regular trains from Kalka to Shimla which runs through out the year on this track. These new special trains are added to lower the burden & give more facilities to tourists.

 

A rare rail car also runs on this track which is one of its kind. The special toy train leaves Kalka at 12:45 pm & arrives Shimla at 6:30 pm. This toy train passes though 102 tunnels (103 tunnels before), 969 bridges & 18 railway stations.

 

The Railway officials are saying that this special toy train will continue till there is tourist rush in Shimla.
