Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Lhasa

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Lhasa starts from Kathmandu & ends at same place on 21st day. So it’s a 20 day long journey. Now we are going to provide you day by day routine of this 20 day & 19 night journey.

DAY 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport

Arrive at Kathmandu airport the executive of your tour operator will see you there & make arrangements for hotel departure. Spend your night in Hotel.

DAY 02:  Sightseeing in morning, After Lunch move to Kodari

In the morning after breakfast visit  Pashupatinath temple & Budhanilkantha Narayan (sleeping Vishnu). After lunch, move to Kodari. After driving for 5 hours approx you will reach Kodari in evening. Spend night in Kodari.

DAY 03: Move to Lhasa by Air

After Morning breakfast move to Tribhuvan International Airport & leave for Gonggar Airport by flight. After arrival at Gonggar Airport you will be transferred to Hotel in Lhasa. Most probably you will be in hotel by 5 P.M. Spend rest of time in acclimatization with climate as now you are at 3650 meters above sea level. To adapt that climate you need time so overnight stay at Lhasa.

DAY 04: Sightseeing in Lhasa.

Visit to Jokhang Temple which was built in 7th century & situated in the oldest part of Lhasa. This temple was built by King Sontsanganbu. Another place which you will see is Sera Monastery which was built in 1419. It is situated in north suberb of Lhasa.

DAY 05: Drive Lhasa to Gyantse

Gyantse is 260 Kilometers from Lhasa. It takes approx. 7 Hours to cover this distance. You will have to cross Kamba La Pass which is 4800 meters above sea level & after that Karo La Pass which is 5010 meters above sea level. You will also see glaciers here which remain here all year long. Reach hotel in Gyantse & stay there for the night.

DAY 06:   Visit to Phalkor Monastery & Khumbhum Stupa after that move towards Shigatse

Phalkor Monastery  was constructed in 15th century by Raptan Kunsang . Khumbhum Stupa is there with another 1000 images in Katumbum Pagoda which was constructed in 1440. It is a real great work of architecture.  Shigatse is 90 Kilometers from Gyanto reach theretse and it takes approx. 3 Hour to cover this distance.  Shigatse is a major city of Tibet. Spend your night in hotel at Shigatse.

Day 07  Shigatse to Lhatse

Lhatse is at a height of 4350 meters from sea level & 308 Kilometers from & it takes approx 7 hours to cover this distance. This trip starts early morning as it is a long journey & Lunch is provided on route. Stay overnight in guesthouse at Lhatse.

Day 08 Lhatse to Saga

Saga is at a height of 4640 meters from sea level & 300 Kilometers from & it takes approx 9 hours to cover this distance. This day will be almost same as day 7 as lunch will be provided on route & overnight stay in guesthouse at Saga.

 Day 9 Saga to Prayang

Prayang  is at a height of 4520 meters from sea level & 200 Kilometers from & it takes approx 7 hours to cover this distance. This day is same as last 2 days as lunch will be provided on route but this route is quite comfortable as roads are flat. Night stay in guesthouse at Prayang.

Day 10 Prayang to Hor Quo, Mansarovar

After breakfast again cover a distance of 112 Kilometers to reach Mayum River & have your lunch there. Now again a journey of 223 Kilometers to reach Hor Quo. On this way you will cross Mayum La pass. This is the big day as the reason for which you are doing this journey is today. You will have first view of Mount Kailash & Manasarovar lake today. Today your night will be adventurous as you will stay overnight in the camp on the riverside.

Day 11  Mansarovar Parikarma

This is the day when you will take a dip in holy lake Mansarovar. Do all your worship etc. early morning after that a Parikarma of 115 Kilometers around lake Mansarovar. This Parikarma takes approx. 5 hours.

Day 12 Drive to Datrchen

After morning breakfast drive starts to Datrchen which is underneath Mount Kailash. Datrchen is at height of 4620 meters above sea level. It is a small village which is full of Pilgrims at this time. There are many guesthouses also at this place. Night stay will be at Datrchen.

Day 13 Datrchen to Tarboche (13 km) and trek to Dirapuk

Tarboche is just 13 Kilometers from Datrchen. From here trekking starts for Mount Kailash Parikrama. After trekking for approx 6 hours you will reach at camp at Dirapuk. Those who think that they can not trek will stay at Dafor trchen & wait for their companions who have been Kailash Parikrama. Those who are on trekking will spend night in camp.

Day 14 Trek to Zuthulphuk

Today trekking is to Zuthulphuk, In between you will reach highest point at Drolma La which is just underneath Mount Kailash & at a height of 5200 meters from sea level. This whole trekking will take approx. 10 hours. Zuthulphuk is at a little lower level 4760 meters above sea level. This is actually the last day of your pilgrim because rest days will be travelling only. Today is also the hardest day as you have to pass though Drolma La Pass which is 5680 meters from sea level. Night stay in Camp.

Day 15  Zuthulphuk to Darchen

Zuthulphuk  is a beautiful place. You can see caves & temples here. Here many Tibetan also lives. This place this ideal for meditation. Now after spending some good time at this place trek back to Darchen which is 10 Kilometers from here & take approx. 5 hours to reach here.

Day 16 Darchen to Prayang

Drive from Darchen to Prayang & overnight stay at hotel at Prayang.

Day 17 Prayang to Saga

Now again 255 Kilometers from Prayang to Saga a drive of approx 7 hours. Night stay at guest house at Saga .

Day 18 Saga to Nyalam

Nyalam is 240 Kilometers from Saga & takes approx. 7 hours to reach there. Night stay in hotel at Nyalam.

Day 19 Saga to Kathmandu

Zhangmu is a hill a little downwards from Saga. Visit to Friendship Bridge at Zhangmu. Now drive towards Kathmandu which is 150 Kilometers from here. Here you have to walk for approx 15 minutes for Immigration Post. Night stay in Hotel at Kathmandu.

Day 20 Shopping fiesta

You can shop in Kathmandu till you wait for your flight. Board your flight from Kathmandu airport.
